This is always difficult for me to judge on the road. I'm looking at a ridiculously crappy 6-year-old Chromebook screen here in Madrid. When I get home after a trip and see my pictures on a Retina display, I'm like, "I really took that? And that? And that? These look amazing!" So this is kind of an experiment. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. This is the tower of the Parroquia de Santa Cruz (Church of the Holy Cross), just off the Carcel de Corte (Santa Cruz Palace). It was the site of an immense tragedy in 1726. The main altar collapsed, burying 80 people and killing dozens. Madrid is a hilly city. I strongly believe this is a gorgeous downhill shot of the Calle de Buenavista in the Barrio de Embajadores. We'll see!
